For those of you who don’t know – I’ve set up a project to do with all things travel over here so go check it out and don’t forget to subscribe!
One of the things I really wanted to do whilst being in Australia was do a hot air balloon ride. I still really want to do one in Turkey soon as the photos I’ve seen are incredible! So whilst I was out there backpacking I did just that!
Visiting Ayres Rock was definitely on the cards and so whilst I was in Alice Springs – I looked into some of the touristy type stuff they had. Other than Uluru (Ayres Rock) itself, there was outback quadding and hot air balloon ride for sunrise. Perfection I thought!
I was only in Alice Springs for a few days so it was pretty crammed with activities.
Ayres Rock resides in Uluru – Kata Tjuta National Park and which is southwest corner of Northern Territory.
En-route to Ayres Rock we stopped off at Olgas which was also awesome to see. These rocks are incredible to see in the naked eye as they are just so mind blowingly big. It’s insane that they are all natural – I love that about travel. Everything makes you feel so small when you look around at the vast space and sheer size of such places. Don’t you agree?
The hot air balloon ride we did was in time for sunrise so we got to experience sunrise over outback Australia. It was one of the most insane mind blowing experiences ever – we got to see wild kangaroos hopping across the fields from a birds eye view. I’ll never forget that, ever! The hot air balloon ride was on a separate day to the Ayres Rock trip but here are some photos from both experiences.
Have you done visited Ayres Rock or done a hot air balloon ride somewhere in the world? If so, where and how was it for you?
