Beyonce X Manchester: From The Crowd

When Beyonce announced her UK tour I thought to myself, I NEED TO GO THIS TIME.

Rephrase – I need to shoot this show! Her press accreditation is pretty tight though and you’re generally stood in the sound desk shooting first 30 seconds of a song, then back out again as a press photographer. I got notified there was no accreditation for this show for Manchester. Boo!

I’ve been wanting to see her live for a while too, but in all honesty, I wasn’t a huge fan of some of her older material.

I loved Destiny’s Child and some of her solo material, but not enough to justify spending that much on a ticket to see her.

I almost went back on her Mrs Carter tour, but gave it a miss.

Her recent material though, I’ve been loving it. Having seen countless documentaries on YouTube in line with her past tours, behind the scenes type content and other material, I just had to go see her this time.

I sat on release day punching away they track pad to grab some tickets but struggled to get some, gutted!

So last week I just went ahead and purchased them via Get Me In. I paid a little more than face value, but it was SO worth it.

Beyonce had her show at Emirates stadium here in Manchester on Tuesday night.

I still got Beyonce blues, it’s now Friday. I wanna do it all over again. Anybody? Somebody?

This show was absolutely INCREDIBLE on so many levels.

The visuals, her vocals, the costumes, the choreography. The setlist. MY GOODNESS.

PERFECTION.

I borrowed a DSLR from a buddy of mine since security confiscate pro gear off you a lot of the time, but on the night, decided to leave it at home.

One, I didn’t want it to get damaged in the rain if it rained as it’s not my property – 2 I really wanted to enjoy it as much as possible, in the moment.

Instead, I went just taking my iPhone 5S as usual and my new Polaroid vid camera I just got for my birthday. Hubby told me to open the birthday package a few days early as there may be something in there that would be useful for the show. NICE SUPRISE 😀 I’ll be sharing a review separate to this on that bad boy – IT’S AWESOME.

Anyway, I was stood in the Golden Circle 2 and since I got there pretty early, I managed to get maybe 4/5 back from the catwalk strip.

I loved everything about this night and it was an amazing first show at a stadium since I’ve never experienced a stadium show yet, from in the crowd or from the pit.

Unfortunately, or fortunately, yes I’m still addicted to taking too many photos and videos at shows even from the crowd. OOPS! It’s part of the experience for me!

Anyway, here’s some photos from my iPhone of Beyonce doing her thing on the Formation Tour date here in Manchester at Emirates Stadium.

I’ll get to shoot her from the pit one day!

The flag was raised until right before Beyonce hit the stage at which point they had staff go up to pull it down along with final checks
