Pricing Photography Packages – The million dollar question!
One of the biggest mistakes we all make as photographers when first starting out is under pricing our skills and services.
I’ve done it myself and I have seen other creatives do this.
Whether it’s photographers or graphic designers or others.
I think it’s down to imposter syndrome!
I mean… When you get hired by a company at XX salary you’re fine with it, but asking for money for your own services can be tough. It’s tough when you first start out too I think. After all, most of us have been working for an employer and are use to a certain way of thinking when it comes to money.
To change that mindset, well it can take some time and yes it’s completely normal.
It’s great to do market research and see what the prices are in your area but at the end of the day, you need to figure out what you think your time and skills are worth.
There are some basic principles or key elements to think about when pricing photography packages though and so here’s a video on how I did it in my business and how you can apply it to your own if it makes sense for you to do so.
