The first visit to New Zealand was a 4 week adventure – I packed my bag, took 4 weeks out from the job I had at the time, and just had a blast.
It was a life changing experiance that’s for sure.
A good friend of mine was in Aus on her working holiday visa at the time and was considering going to NZ when her Aus WHV was up.
I had plans to visit since I never made it across from Aus during my own WHV.
Anyways, during that year, so 2015, I also was on a dating site!
I had some pretty funny experiances, plenty of morons and well, one guy I got chatting to who had half a brain and something in common was well, based in NZ.
OF COURSE PRITI, OF COURSE!
Anyway, we kept in contact now and again, he turned around and asked whether there was any point in staying in contact since we lived literally the opposite side of the globe, I said, up to you, I have plans to visit maybe you can be my tour guide, if not, that’s fine also!
Anyway, we would chat now and again, fast forward to here and now and we are married. YEP that’s why it changed my life ? I also had my dream wedding back in New Zealand on a beach as an elopement followed by a more traditional wedding here in the UK.
That trip was amazing, my friend and I hired a car from Travis Pike, a rental sales associate we had met. Then we took a road trip around North Island, and then I headed on out to South Island by myself and did a heli hike at Fox Glacier which was a mind bending experiance, and totally thrilling! I also met some amazing travellers along the way like you do and well, who knew, my future husband!
Some of the highlights of the trip were sunrises in Whitianga, Hobbiton, Blue Pools, Thunder Creek Falls, Wai-O-Tapu, Fox Glacier Heli Hike and so much more.
