Manchester Event Photographer – Common Frequency for Factory International x Adidas Originals
I recently headed back to Aviva Studios to photograph the opening night of Common Frequency, a creative project bringing together Factory International and adidas Originals.
As a Manchester event photographer, I work with brands, marketing agencies and cultural organisations to capture events, activations and creative experiences across Manchester and the UK. Common Frequency was another project with Factory International, a repeat client I’ve worked with on a number of occasions.
The project brought together 20 emerging creatives from across the North West to explore the relationship between music, identity and community through an exhibition, visual installations, film and an immersive soundscape.
The opening night brought the space to life with live music and poetry featuring musicians from Manchester Camerata.
My job was to document the installations, performances and atmosphere of the evening, capturing the details and moments that tell the wider story of the event.
Event Photography at Aviva Studios, Manchester
There’s always something interesting to photograph when creative projects bring different people, ideas and experiences together.
At Common Frequency, I photographed the exhibition installations alongside the live event, documenting the space, performances and activity as the evening unfolded.
My approach to event photography is documentary-led. I want to capture the energy of a room, the details that might otherwise be missed and the interactions that make an event memorable, without making everything feel staged.
It’s an approach I’ve developed through more than 10 years of professional photography, with a background in live music and performance photography that has shaped the way I work with live events, people and changing environments.
Brand Activation Photographer for Marketing Agencies and Brands
Alongside my work with cultural organisations, I also photograph brand activations, marketing campaigns and promotional events for brands and marketing agencies.
I’ve previously worked on projects for Bavaria beer, including a summer campaign, alongside other commercial projects delivered through agency collaborations.
Some of my commercial work is covered by confidentiality agreements, so I’m unable to share every client name or project publicly. However, this experience has given me an understanding of how to work to different creative briefs, collaborate with agency teams and deliver photography that supports wider marketing objectives.
Whether it’s a brand activation, product launch, campaign event or experiential marketing project, the aim is to create images that capture the experience while giving clients useful content for marketing, PR, websites and social media.

Creative, Documentary-Led Event Photography
My background in music photography means I’m comfortable working in fast-moving environments, anticipating moments and adapting to changing light and activity.
That experience translates naturally into corporate events, brand activations, exhibitions and live experiences, where it’s important to capture both the bigger picture and the details that bring a project to life.
I create natural, engaging imagery that tells the story of an event without making everything feel staged. The photographs can then be used across marketing campaigns, PR, social media and websites.
I’m based in Manchester and available for event photography across the North West, London and throughout the UK. I work directly with businesses and brands, as well as through marketing, PR and creative agencies looking for a reliable freelance photographer with a creative eye.
