We headed on out to Chania in Crete a few weeks back. I didn’t know all that much about Chania until a few months ago when I saw some YouTube videos about the beaches in the area and the ruins. It looked so picturesque and well, warm! Fast forward a few months and we were heading out there.
This city is so utterly beautiful. There are literally hidden gems everywhere. The weather had just started warming up and we visited during the off peak season, thankfully! So it was really nice and quiet everywhere we went!
In Chania itself, there are some awesome places to visit and dine. The Venetian Harbour is really beautiful to see, even more so when you take the walk down and see it up close.
Mostly though, it’s just awesome to get lost in the city and explore your little heart away.
The great thing about Chania is that it’s a short drive away from some of the most amazing beaches and costs of food are lower if you’re staying even 10 minutes drive away from the main downtown area. That’s what we had done, we stayed at a AirBnB place with incredible views. I’ll be writing more about it on the travel blog here.
Here’s some highlights from around Chania.
