The thing with music and concert photography is that it’s a challenging industry and so you shoot as much as possible, as frequently as possible, to keep your work up to date and relevant and to keep challenging yourself to keep creating.
Even when you sometimes don’t want to.
And so by doing so you end up seeing the growth in bands and artists through a lens because before you know it, you’ve shot them so many times you have lost count! This could be simply as you love the style of photos you end up with by photographing a certain band or artist or the energy of the crowd or whatever other reason it may be.
Over the last few years I’ve captured and been following the growth of JP Cooper’s music.
From small intimate venues like Sound Control and Deaf Institute and Castle to the performance at Manchester Arena last Christmas for Key 103 live to a sold out show at the awesome O2 Ritz venue just a few nights ago.
Here’s a fave from the show.
