Munich, Rotenburg & Bavaria Germany

I love finding super cheap flights and just grabbing a bag and going! We are so lucky here in Europe to have companies like Monarch, Ryan Air, Easyjet, Wowair to name some which offer some great bargains. Heck it’s cheaper to go some place new in Europe then it is to go London which is 2 hours by train down the road.

Something definitely not right there ? Ain’t complaining though!

We grabbed a flight pretty last minute a while back to head on over to Germany and grabbed ourselves a cheeky stay bang right in Munich. As we only had a few days there we ended up splitting the trip into a day or so in Munich itself, heading over to Rotenburg for a day and then Bavaria for a day to go visit Neuschwanstein Castle. The castle was incredible… apparently Disney’s castle is based on this place – You can totally see why when you visit.

For those of you who may not be familiar with Rotenburg – it’s the cutest little town / village in Germany that just has Christmas screaming all over it. I really loved it there and made for a really nice day trip. We didn’t have a car hire on this trip so we booked on to some local tours which were handy.

It was during the same month of a last minute trip to Iceland and getting to experience the Northern Lights which I’ll share on a separate post ?

I really loved visiting Rotenburg and Bavaria but Munich I thought it was average. It was beautiful but I found the people to be really rude both in Munich and Rotenburg itself. Not sure I’ll bother going back there anytime soon but it was alright!
