P!nk’s Summer Carnival Tour 2023 open night took place right here in Greater Manchester at Bolton Stadium last week!
After attempting to get accreditation through press and it falling through – I booked a ticket last minute for the second night.
I absolutely ADORE P!nk and her shows – having seen her 3 times before this show – I knew it was going to be another banger!
Pink’s Summer Carnival Tour 2023 date at Bolton Stadium was an exhilarating experience filled with energetic performances, stunning visuals, and unforgettable moments.
In this case,as an enthusiastic concert-goer armed with an iPhone 12 Pro Max, I had the power to capture these memories from the crowd.
In this blog post, I’ll outline some valuable tips and techniques to help you take incredible photos of P!nk’s electrifying show (or any other show!)using your smartphone camera.
- Arrive Early and Find a Great Spot: To capture the best shots, it’s crucial to secure a good position in the crowd. Arrive at the venue early to have ample time to find a spot that offers a clear view of the stage. Position yourself close to the front or near an elevated area to avoid obstructions and have a better chance of capturing the artist in action.I was in the Golden Circle for this show and positioned to the right of stage.I did this as I knew her and her dancers would be moving around alot!
- Understand Your Smartphone Camera Settings: The iPhone 12 Pro Max boasts an impressive camera system that can produce professional-quality photos. Familiarize yourself with the various camera settings and features such as exposure control, focus modes, and burst mode. Knowing how to adjust these settings quickly will help you capture the perfect moment with precision.
- Optimise Lighting Conditions: Concert venues often have challenging lighting conditions, but you can still achieve great results. Experiment with the exposure settings to find the right balance between the stage’s bright lights and the surrounding environment. Keep in mind that P!nk’s performances may include dynamic lighting effects, so be prepared to adapt your camera settings accordingly.
- Capture the Energy and Atmosphere: Concerts are all about capturing the energy and atmosphere of the live performance. Use burst mode to capture a series of shots in quick succession, increasing your chances of getting the perfect action shot. Be ready to snap candid moments that showcase the excitement of the crowd and the connection between artist and the fans!
- Zooming and Framing: The iPhone 12 Pro Max offers optical zoom capabilities, allowing you to get closer to the action even from a distance. Experiment with different zoom levels to frame your shots effectively. However, keep in mind that excessive digital zoom can result in loss of image quality, so try to get as close as possible to maintain sharpness.
- Embrace Unique Perspectives: While capturing shots of artist on stage is undoubtedly exciting, don’t forget to explore other unique perspectives. Experiment with angles and viewpoints, capturing shots of the crowd, the stage setup, or the interactions between band members. These shots will add variety to your collection and tell a more comprehensive story of the concert.
- Edit and Enhance: Once you’ve captured a range of shots, take advantage of editing apps available on your iPhone to enhance the final images. Adjust the brightness, contrast, and color levels to make your photos pop. Experiment with filters and effects to create a distinct look that complements the atmosphere of the concert.
With the powerful camera capabilities of the iPhone 12 Pro Max, photographing P!nk’s Summer Carnival Tour 2023 at Bolton Stadium in Greater Manchester was an exciting opportunity to capture some great photos I’m super happy to add to my portfolio of work.
